    Student journalist information request

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 07:56 AM PST

    Hello,

I am a student journalist based in the UK and am writing a feature article on the future of autonomous transport as part of an assessed portfolio. I would be extremely grateful if any members of this community could offer me their predictions for the industry. Ideally I would like to use your name and your role within your company/the industry as part of my article, which will not be published. Please reply below or send me a DM if you want to remain anonymous.

Questions that I would like answered are:

Where do you see the industry in 5/10/20 years?
What do you think is holding autonomous vehicles back at the moment?
Do you think the future is fully autonomous vehicles or for advanced software integrated into non-purpose built vehicles?

In your opinion, what are the main benefits of self-driving cars? Are there any areas where manually driven cars are superior?

How important do you think proper regulation is for the industry?

Do you have or are you aware of any moral objections to (level 4) autonomous vehicles?

Do you have any further comments about the future of self-driving cars?

And just for fun, which film or TV series set in the future do you think best captures our future reality when it comes to travel?

Thank you so much in advance for your time.

How can i find a mentor in this domain ?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 01:01 AM PST

Next year i'm going to graduate with engineering degree in mechatronics, and my goal is to work as a perception engineer. Si i thought i would be good idea to find a mentor, someone who works in this industry to help guide me. Like what to technologies to learn, best practices for the industry, types of projects to do - you know to increase my chances of landing an internship- and advices in general.
