Self-Driving Cars Randy Randazzo: Rode in an autonomous Waymo with nobody behind the wheel as a backup. My impression is the cars are more assertive than they were a year ago, pulling through stop signs and making lefts at lights with less hesitation.

Waymo One launched a year ago. Where are all the social media posts?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 01:02 AM PST

Previous posts here and here. Very little has changed since then.

When Waymo One launched a year ago, ArsTechnica reported that:

Under the early rider program, Waymo required participants to sign non-disclosure agreements. Those restrictions will be lifted for customers who use Waymo One, allowing them to take pictures and videos and to share the information on social media.

    And predicted:

In the coming weeks we're going to learn a lot about how Waymo's technology works—and doesn't work—in the real world.

There were a few posts in the first month, but almost nothing since then.

There were plenty of posts by Waymo PR, their ridiculous "Waymo Ambassadors", but virtually zero by Waymo One users and their guests.

Sure, most rides are boring and uneventful, but so are most Autopilot rides. Yet, there are many excruciatingly boring videos on YouTube documenting the minute differences between minor Autopilot point releases.

Where are all the Waymo One social media posts?

Does anyone have any information on Zoox?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 08:46 PM PST

I am trying to understand where Zoox stands amongst the more popular SDC companies and also relative to smaller ones like voyager. Does Zoox have a future, or if it's too harsh, what do you see its future to be most likely?
