Posted: 18 Jul 2020 10:42 AM PDT https://youtu.be/S9YUbkWfDco?t=349 This video from Solving the Money Problem repeats a concept I hear often about autonomous vehicles: that humans have neural nets and camera eyes, so that's all that's needed for autonomous driving. There are billions of humans that drive pretty well, and they're proof that neural nets and cameras are sufficient for the task. I enjoy thinking about how this mindset would have looked at various other points in history. For example, in 1885, some people observed that there are billions of birds that fly by flapping their wings, so wings were clearly sufficient for flight.
